Great improvement

Nice game, great improvement from the first one. I like how you took the advice of making pictures that looked like something instead of the wierd shapes that the first one was built up with.

I also liked how the levels differed from each other, like there were both pictures of the buildings, then one that looked like your desktop edited in photoshop. A lot of the pictures looked like pintings in a gallery ;). I got mayorly surprised when I saw the moving stars and maracas levels- really great idea with moving pictures!

The game's problem is though that If you lose you have to try again right from the start. Even If I tried severeal times, I just couldn't get through the photoshop image i was talking about.

And yes, I'm sorry, but I did find a way to cheat, therefore I could look at all the levels.

On a whole it's a very good game, proplably one of the best in it's kind made in flash.

BTW have you noticed you are on the, I think top 30 reviews on NG?

stay funky maracasman ;)

Bezman responds:

Thanks! :)

The collection of lines for the first version was just to get it submitted asap and show of my 'engine' to people and see if they liked the idea. :)

A friend commented about restarting a while ago, and I'm going to make it so you have continues.

I knew about being able to cheat, but I didn't really consider it a problem at the time, as it's not as if there's a high score table or anything, so if you want to go into the right-click menu to see all the pictures, that's up to you.

Printings in a gallery? Wow! Thanks!

I think I'll be able to do more with moving/changing pictures - I'll have to explore it sometime...

I'm not actually aware of any other Flash versions of Spot the Difference, so the lack of competition probably helps me a lot. ;)

I'm on the top 30 reviews? Not sure what you mean by that...

Thanks for another useful review. :)

Stay funky? I'll do my best!

cool thingy

Well made flash. Nice jokes, they made me smile :). It was occasionally hard to figure out wtf Wade said, half of the joke where lost there. For next time I strongly suggest subtitles.

Kind of crappy, but still solid graphics, intentionally and I am sure (I liked Wade's shirt though. Wade's lipsynching also worked fine. Above all a nice concept.

I think I know where you got the audio: TEXT TO WAV GENERATOR, by Wolvie. The reason why I noticed this was because I made a very similar flash myself- I used exact the same audiosource in my movie "NG HeadQuarters" to make fun with NG staff. I am not accusing you for theft or anything, It's just wierd...

halycon responds:

Hehe , thanks, I used the AT&T Text 2 Speech demo for his voice, it makes very nice clear voices, although some are hard to make out, its hell of a lot better then the speakonia one... Thanks for the review

Boring...

I dunno, I guess It's a solid puzzle game, the only problem is it's just not funny. And too hard. I wish you could see the little picture in the window when yo where where doing your puzzle.

MOVIE COMMENTARY: Puzzle and Flash doesn't match.

XwaynecoltX responds:

Um its a puzzle how is it gonna be funny, maybe the last one of foamy is kinda funny, but a puzzle is more of a memory style game, and yes thease are hard but i didnt mean for them to be easy, anyways thanks for the revoew...

~X~

....

U don't suck in actionscripting, most people are a lot worse then you. You got a great start. The games, at least the first one looked cool. Just contact people in the BBS if you want to find a actionscripter to help you.

halycon responds:

Thanks, I tried the bbs, especially in that 'actionscript codes here' topic, but to no avail, I think alot of the poeple form the portal dont hang in the bbs, so maybe someone will see it here and want to team up with me..

Kind of good

I would have given it a much higher score if it didn't look like a crappy ripoff of EhFilms "Found Lost" though. Drawings where good and I see you have tried to make a fair deal of makeing it look good. Just keep trying!

Blazed1987 responds:

Its halloween So Its scaring time :P

Well

Kirby might not be the best charcter to feature in a dressup game, if you see what I mean.

Crystalpistol responds:

I don't, really what do u mean? And don't rate bad just cause' its not a good character (in your opinion)

It was ok.

Whilst nothing special, I like your little puzzle games for their simplicity. Also the "Bezman- Colors" shades of purple where here.

If you are going to make a game like this but longer I strongly suggest you to make the levels very different. Add people and other stuff in the picture that makes it funnier to watch. Right now there is only a lot of colors that makes no sense. Once again I also miss the lack of music and some sort of soundeffects. Add stupid sound effects too to make it funnier ;).

Bezman responds:

Thanks for yet another thorough review. :D

I'm glad I've managed to have a coherent style of my own. :)

I actually just submitted the longer version. There aren't any photos, but most of the pictures aren't just patterns. Would you try it and see what you think?

I didn't add sound effects, but it seems that a few people want them, so I'll be definitely adding them later on. I hadn't considered a stupid angle on the sfx, but I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the idea! :)

Pretty Boring, Eh

Dude, this really aint that fuc to me. Just a lot of reading. If you would have read them yourself I would have liked it a whole lot bettar.

TheOtherTruth responds:

Thank you for your review.

At last, a real review. I hear what you are saying, and I agree to a point.

Thanks again

Good game ^_^

Hey man I like what you have come up with. The game Itself has such a simple idea, yet is so terrible addictive.

Graphics. Well the only graphics where skears but they looked okay. Could occasionally get a bit dull though with just the purple and red, but still that was what the game was all about. I didn't really like the "click here" button either, It just didn't look right. I liked the text at the end of every level and the tutorial how to learn the game was excellent.

I also seriosly think you need some sort of music and maybe some cool sound effects. I really missed the sound.

AcidDimensions responds:

Hey!

Glad you liked the game and thanks for the excellent review. :D

I suppose I could have put in some backgrounds or something, but I thought it might distract too much from the action and confuse folk. Also, some later levels don't run at full speed as it is... :(

Sorry you didn't like the button... I was just trying to make the text there look a bit different. I'll just stick to actual fonts in future.

The text was just Comic Sans.

I later tried having sound in the last 2 Mini Skears games (Mini Skears 3: Musical Skears and Mini Skears: Encapsulated) and some folk didn't like it...

I still don't know how sound effects could be turned off, but I'm working through the Flash Bible, so hopefully I'll know it all within a year.

I'd like to have some interactive sound but need to first learn about how to code it in.

So expect me to have sound in all future work after than point.

Thanks again for the review. Please try Skears DX - The last version I made (and the best in my opinion).

I'd love to hear what you think of that. :)

Uhh

I didn't like it that much. Just spaceship shooter. Nothing really original. Mostly I gave It a 2 because you're the author, Mappy.

io3creations responds:

Hmm. Actually, the game author is TutiTV. I just used Mappy's audio.

If you've known this, would you have given zero? That makes me sad :(
The game may not be 'Madness Interactive' but I think it at least deserves an Overall Rating of 4 of 10 - due to the amount work I put into it.
Anyways, peace out man.
